Petrov went on to win the League Cup with Celtic in his first season, marking the beginning of a successful spell with the club.
During his time at Celtic, Petrov won ten trophies, including four Scottish Premier League titles. His impressive form and dedication earned him a reputation as one of the top midfielders in the Scottish Premier League.
In 2006, Petrov made the move to Aston Villa in the Premier League, reuniting with his former manager Martin O'Neill. He quickly established himself as a fan favorite, becoming club captain and making 219 competitive appearances for the club. In 2013, he was inducted into the Aston Villa Hall of Fame.
