As a senior, he was named Player of the Year by both the Boston Globe and Boston Herald, Gatorade New England Player of the Year, and earned All-America honors from USA Today.
Hasselbeck attended Boston College, where he played for the Eagles football team from 1996 to 1999. During his college years, he met his future wife, Elisabeth Filarski, a television personality who was a Survivor contestant in 2001 and later a co-host on the ABC talk show The View. The couple got married on July 6, 2002, and has three children: Grace Elisabeth (born 2005), Taylor Thomas (born 2007), and Isaiah Timothy (born 2009).
