Born on January 15, 2002, in Germany, Sttzle began playing junior hockey for the Krefelder EV 1981, where he was the top scorer on his team for the 2015-2016 season. He later transferred to Jungadler Mannheim, scoring 18 goals and 29 assists in the 2017-2018 season.
In June 2019, Sttzle signed a three-year contract with Adler Mannheim, making his professional debut at the age of 17 in the Champions Hockey League opening round. He played in 52 games for Adler, scoring 7 goals and 34 points as the youngest player in the league.

Sttzle scored his first National Hockey League (NHL) goal on January 16, 2021, against Jack Campbell in a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has continued to impress on the ice, earning a spot on the Senators' roster and solidifying his position as a rising star in the NHL.
Sttzle committed to play hockey at the University of New Hampshire but opted to remain in Germany and signed with Adler Mannheim instead. He has overcome setbacks, including a broken hand that required surgery and a 6-8 week recovery period in October 2020.
