Trevor Fitzgerald Booker, born on November 25, 1987, is an American former professional basketball player who made a name for himself in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with his impressive skills as a power forward. Booker's love for basketball was instilled in him by his mother, Tracey, a high school player herself. Growing up in a rural Whitmire neighborhood in South Carolina, Booker and his brothers would often eat up to 20 bowls of cereal a week, sharing a bond that would only strengthen on the court. Booker's interest in basketball began to take shape under the guidance of his mother, who introduced him to the game at a young age.
At Union High School in Union, South Carolina, Booker honed his skills under head coach Joe Pitt. In his senior year, 2005-2006, he averaged an impressive 21.9 points, 16.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, earning him the title of Gatorade Player of the Year for South Carolina. He was also named AAA State Player of the Year and became a first-time All-State selection. Booker left Union High School as its all-time leader in rebounds and blocked shots.
Fresh out of high school, Booker was listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals.com and 247Sports.com. Ranked 29th best power forward by Rivals and 27th by 247Sports in the Class of 2006, Booker committed to play for the Clemson Tigers men's basketball team in 2005. During his college career, Booker continued to excel, eventually signing the National Letter of Intent with Clemson in 2006 and enrolling in May of the same year.
Booker's entry into the NBA began with a bang when he was drafted 23rd overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2010 NBA draft. Immediately traded to the Washington Wizards, Booker went on to play for several teams, including the Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers.
