Her ancestry is a rich blend of French, German, and English roots. Malick graduated from Williamsville South High School in 1968 and later became an alumna of the William Esper Studio for the performing arts in Manhattan, New York City.
After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, in 1972, Malick began fashion modeling for the Wilhelmina modeling agency. She soon transitioned to work for Republican Congressman Jack Kemp, before pursuing a career in stage and screen. Malick commenced her acting career in 1982 with the film A Little Sex.
