Born on February 20, 1964, in Highland Park, New Jersey, Garson was the son of Muriel (née Schwartz) and Donald M. Paszamant. He was raised in a Jewish family and attended Camp Wekeela in Hartford, Maine, for 11 years. Garson graduated from Highland Park High School in 1982 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater from Wesleyan University in 1985. He further honed his craft with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale Drama School.
Garson's extensive television credits include recurring roles in NYPD Blue, Sex and the City, and White Collar. He also made notable appearances in Mr. Belvedere, My Two Dads, Coach, Quantum Leap, Twin Peaks, Monk, Boy Meets World, Girl Meets World, Ally McBeal, Party of Five, Star Trek: Voyager, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, among many others.
