Malaysian Airline System Flight 653, a Boeing 737, took off from Penang to Kuala Lumpur, carrying 92 passengers and 8 crew members. But what was supposed to be a routine flight turned into a nightmare. The plane was hijacked by a group of unknown assailants, who demanded to be flown to Singapore. As the pilots navigated the plane towards the destination, they were forced to make an emergency landing in a small village called Tanjong Kupang in Johor, Malaysia. Tragically, the plane crashed in the village, killing all 100 people on board.
