Dr. Balaji Sadasivan was a Singaporean politician and renowned neurosurgeon, known for his stellar career in both medicine and politics. He was a trailblazer in the medical field, publishing over 50 book chapters and journal articles, and later served as a Minister of State in various capacities, including Health, Transport, and Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Sadasivan's academic journey began at Raffles Institution, Siglap Secondary School, and National Junior College. He then pursued medicine at the University of Singapore, graduating in 1979. He further honed his skills at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1984. He also trained at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, from 1985 to 1989, and became a Fellow of Harvard University in 1990.
