Born Bayley Alexander Cooke on May 29, 1963, in Birmingham, England, Bayley's love for music was ignited when he saw Ronnie James Dio perform live at the Birmingham Odeon on his Holy Diver tour. This experience sparked a fire within him, and he soon began exploring his own musical talents.
Bayley's professional music career began in 1984 when he founded the band Wolfsbane, along with guitarist Jase Edwards, bassist Jeff Hateley, and drummer Pete Parsons. With Wolfsbane, Bayley released several demos, including Wolfsbane (1985), Dancin' Dirty (1987), and Wasted but Dangerous (1988). Their debut album, Live Fast, Die Fast, was released in 1989, followed by the EP All Hell's Breaking Loose Down at Little Kathy Wilson's Place in 1990.
In 1994, Bayley took on the role of lead vocalist for Iron Maiden, following Bruce Dickinson's departure. During his time with the band, Bayley performed on the albums The X Factor (1995) and
After leaving Iron Maiden in 1999, Bayley embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album, Silicon Messiah, in 2000. In addition to his solo work, Bayley has reunited with Wolfsbane several times, releasing new material and touring extensively.
