Fedor Klimov, born on September 7, 1990, is a retired Russian pair skater renowned for his exceptional skill and achievements in the sport. Alongside his partner, Ksenia Stolbova, he clinched the 2014 Olympic silver medal and the 2014 Olympic team event gold medal.
Klimov was born in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union (now Saint Petersburg, Russia). He began skating due to his mother, a coach at the Figure Skating Academy in Saint Petersburg. Initially, he competed in men's singles, placing 9th at the 2007 Russian Junior Championships. However, he made the switch to pair skating at the age of 16 on his coach's advice.
Klimov's partnership with Ksenia Stolbova began in 2009 under the guidance of coach Ludmila Velikova. During their first season together, they placed 2nd and 7th at their two Junior Grand Prix events and 7th at the Final. They went on to win the Russian Junior title and bronze at the 2010 Junior World Championships.
In the 2010-2011 season, Stolbova-Klimov won both of their Junior Grand Prix events and qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final, where they took silver. They also made their senior Grand Prix debut, finishing 5th at Skate America.
Klimov's most notable achievements include the 2014 Olympic silver medal and the 2014 Olympic team event gold medal, both won with Stolbova. They also claimed silver at the 2014 World Championships.
In addition to their Olympic and World Championship medals, Stolbova-Klimov are three-time European medalists (2012 bronze, 2014 silver, and 2015 silver), 2015-2016 Grand Prix Final champions, and three-time Russian national champions (2014, 2015, and 2017).
On June 17, 2022, Klimov married figure skater Evgenia Tarasova, the 2022 Olympic silver medalist in pair skating.
