Ksenia Andreyevna Stolbova was born on February 7, 1992, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. She developed a passion for skating at the tender age of three and began training a few years later.
Stolbova initially started as a single skater, but at the age of 14, she made the switch to pair skating, which would become her niche. Her first partnership was with Artur Minchuk, and they skated together for three seasons from 2006 to 2009.
In 2009, Stolbova teamed up with Fedor Klimov, and their partnership proved to be a game-changer. They trained in Saint Petersburg under the guidance of coach Ludmila Velikova.
During their first season together, Stolbova and Klimov won the Russian Junior title and bronze at the 2010 Junior World Championships. They continued to dominate the junior circuit, winning silver at the 2011 Junior Grand Prix Final.
