Booth hails from Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, where he led the team to win the high school basketball national championship in 1992. He was heavily recruited by coach Gary Williams and became the first player from Baltimore City to play for the University of Maryland in several years.
The Chicago Bulls selected Booth as their first pick (28th overall) in the 1997 NBA Draft. He played two seasons with the Bulls, showcasing his skills and talent on the court.
