Lena Hall, a multi-talented actress and singer, is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance as Yitzhak in the 2014 revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, as well as her historic feat of becoming the first person to play both Hedwig and Yitzhak in the same production during the national tour in 2016.
Born Celina Consuela Gabriella Carvajal on January 30, 1980, in San Francisco, California, Hall comes from a family of artists. Her father, Carlos Carvajal, is a ballet dancer, choreographer, and co-artistic director of the annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival, while her mother, Carolyn Houser Carvajal, is a prima ballerina and yogi master.
Hall's Broadway credits include originating the role of Nicola in Kinky Boots, as well as performances in Cats, 42nd Street, Dracula, the Musical, and Tarzan, the Musical. Her Tony Award win for Hedwig and the Angry Inch earned her a Grammy nomination for the musical's official album.
In addition to her Broadway success, Hall has starred in Off-Broadway productions such as Radiant Baby, Bedbugs, Rooms A Rock Romance, The Toxic Avenger, Prometheus Bound, Chix6, Little Shop of Horrors, and the 2017 original play How to Transcend a Happy Marriage.
