Marie-France Dubreuil, born August 11, 1974, is a Canadian ice dancing coach and former competitor, best known for her impressive partnership with husband Patrice Lauzon, earning them two World silver medals in 2006 and 2007.
Dubreuil was born in Montreal, Quebec, and took her first steps on the ice at the age of five, asking for skating lessons as a birthday gift from her grandmother. She found her calling in ice dancing at just ten years old, inspired by the iconic duo Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov.
Competing with Bruno Yvars, Dubreuil won the bronze medal at the 1990 World Junior Championships. She later teamed up with Patrice Lauzon in 1995, and together they achieved remarkable success, including:
In 2006, Dubreuil suffered an injury during a lift attempt at the Winter Olympics, forcing the pair to withdraw from the competition. Lauzon carried her off the ice, showcasing the pair's strength and dedication to each other. Despite this setback, they recovered to win the silver medal at the 2006 World Championships in Calgary, Alberta.
