With an astonishing 236 goals, Palermo is Boca Juniors' all-time top scorer and seventh among all-time Primera División top scorers with 227 goals in 408 matches.
Born in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Palermo began his career at Estudiantes de La Plata, playing for five years from 1992 to 1997. He later transferred to Boca Juniors, where he would go on to make history.
Initially, Palermo had a slow start with Boca Juniors, but he eventually found his footing, scoring his first goal in a 2-1 victory against Independiente on September 30, 1997.
