Mehmet Aurlio, born Marco Aurlio Brito dos Prazeres, is a renowned football coach and former player who made a name for himself as a defensive midfielder. With a career spanning over a decade, Aurlio is best known for his impressive performances in the Turkish Süper Lig, where he made a staggering 254 appearances and scored 29 goals for top-tier clubs like Trabzonspor, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş.
Aurlio's footballing journey began at Bangu before he joined his hometown club Flamengo in 1995. After a successful stint with Flamengo, he moved to Olaria in 2001 and later signed with Trabzonspor in the Turkish Süper Lig. It was during his time with Trabzonspor that Aurlio won his first major trophy, the Turkish Cup, in 2003.

During his time with Real Betis, Aurlio played 29 games and scored 4 goals, including two in a 4-2 win over Numancia on November 9, 2008. However, his stint was cut short due to a right knee ligament injury that kept him sidelined from April to November 2009.
After his contract with Real Betis expired, Aurlio returned to Turkey, where he went on to play for BeÅŸiktaÅŸ and eventually began his coaching career.
Aurlio was born in Brazil but naturalized as a Turkish citizen, which enabled him to represent the Turkey national team. He made 44 appearances for Turkey between 2006 and 2011, scoring twice. Aurlio was part of the Turkish squad that reached the semifinals of UEFA Euro 2008.
