Born on September 29, 1991, in Meudon, Hauts-de-Seine, France, Doukara began his professional career at a young age, joining Rovigo Calcio in the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione during the 2008-2009 season.
At just 16 years old, he made his first-team debut, playing seven games that season without scoring any goals. However, his impressive performance caught the attention of A.C. Milan, who offered him a trial spell, although they ultimately decided not to sign him.
Doukara's form earned him a regular starting spot at Rovigo, and he went on to make 36 appearances in the 2009-2010 Serie D season. His exceptional skills led to a trial spell at Grasshopper Club Zürich in the Swiss Super League, although he was unable to secure a contract.
Prior to the 2011-2012 Lega Pro season, Doukara was transferred to Seconda Divisione club Vibonese, where he played 37 out of 42 league matches, scoring an impressive 13 goals.

Although he primarily served as a backup to Argentine internationals Gonzalo Bergessio and Maxi López, Doukara made 12 Serie A appearances in his maiden top-flight season. He also made two Coppa Italia appearances that season, helping Catania reach the quarterfinals.
