Timit Bassori hails from the MandDioula origin and was born in Aboisso, Côte d'Ivoire. He attended elementary school in his hometown before moving to Abidjan to pursue his education at the Technical College, where he completed his commercial studies in 1952.
Bassori's passion for theater led him to Paris, where he honed his craft at the Cours Simon (1956-1957) and the Center d'Art Dramatique (1957-1958). He founded the Compagnie d'Art Dramatique des GRIOTS in 1957 with fellow student friends, which marked the beginning of his illustrious career in the film industry.
