He completed his primary education at Holy Family Boys High School and Government Boys High School in Cherthala, and later pursued his Bachelor of Arts from Maharajas College, Ernakulam, and Bachelor of Law from Government Law College, Ernakulam.
Antony's entry into politics began as a student leader in Cherthala Taluk, Alleppey District. He was an activist of the Kerala Students Union, under the guidance of M. A. John. His dedication and commitment to the cause led him to become an active leader in the Congress party.
