Parsons began playing the drums at the tender age of five, accompanying his father, Longineu W. Parsons II, in his band The Longineu Parsons Ensemble. This early introduction to music laid the foundation for his future success.
Parsons joined Yellowcard in 1997, alongside Ben Dobson, Todd Clary, Warren Cooke, and Ben Harper, after meeting at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. He played an integral role in the band's success, featuring on albums such as Midget Tossing (1997) and Ocean Avenue Acoustic (2013). His 17-year tenure with Yellowcard cemented his reputation as a talented and dedicated drummer.
In March 2014, Parsons parted ways with Yellowcard, leaving behind a legacy as the only remaining member of the original lineup. In a joint statement, the band wished him "the best of luck in his future endeavors."
Following his departure from Yellowcard, Parsons formed This Legend with former bandmate Ben Harper, Chris Castillo, and Steven Neufeld. The band released their debut album, It's in the Streets, in November 2014. Although the band went on hiatus in 2017, Parsons continued to pursue other musical interests.
In 2022, Parsons joined Vilano, a modern rock band from St. Augustine, Florida, featuring vocalist Stephen Drawdy, guitarist Adam Otoski, and bassist Nick Holtz. The band released their full-length album, No Rain, No Flowers, in March 2021.
In 2023, Parsons co-founded KRASH PARTY, a pop punk/alt band from St. Augustine, Florida, alongside Shannon Fitz (vocals), Mark Mchone (bass), and Aaron Grove (guitar).
