As a competitor, Zoueva represented the Soviet Union in ice dancing with partner Andrei Vitman, earning two national bronze medals at the Soviet Championships. She placed fifth at the 1977 European and World Championships, and sixth at the 1978 European Championships.
Zoueva retired from competitive skating in the late 1970s to pursue a career in choreography. She earned her choreography degree from the National Theatre Institute in Moscow in 1982, creating a routine for Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov as her final assignment. This marked the beginning of a long-standing collaboration with the iconic pair, choreographing their programs to Moonlight Sonata, Vocalise, and Romeo and Juliet. After Grinkov's passing in 1995, Zoueva continued to work with Gordeeva, creating most of her solo programs until 2000.
In 1991, Zoueva left Russia to work in North America, coaching and choreographing at the Arctic Figure Skating Club in Canton, Michigan, as part of the International Skating Academy. Her partnership with Igor Shpilband in 2001 led to numerous Olympic and World Championship medals for their students, including Davis and White, and Virtue and Moir.
