Benatzky was married twice, first to Josma Selim, a singer, and then to Melanie Mela Hoffmann, a dancer. Despite being mistakenly referred to as Jewish due to an error published during World War II, Benatzky himself was not Jewish. He passed away on October 16, 1957, in Zürich, Switzerland, leaving behind a legacy of timeless music that continues to enchant audiences today.
