Rolando Carlos Schiavi is an Argentine retired football defender, most recognized for his time spent playing for Boca Juniors, one of the most successful and beloved clubs in Argentina. During his tenure at Boca, Schiavi won seven major titles and one minor title, cementing his status as a club legend.
Schiavi started his career in the lower leagues with Argentino de Rosario before moving to Argentinos Juniors in 1995. He played for Argentinos for six years, honing his skills and gaining recognition in the Argentine football circuit.
In 2001, Schiavi joined Boca Juniors, where he would go on to play 186 games, scoring 22 goals, including 122 league games with 12 goals. During his time at Boca, Schiavi formed an unstoppable partnership with his teammates, leading the club to numerous victories and earning widespread acclaim.
In September 2009, Schiavi was called up for the first time to the Argentina national football team prior to a World Cup qualifier match against Brazil. After retiring from professional football, Schiavi was appointed assistant coach of Martín Palermo at Arsenal de Sarandí in April 2014. He later became the reserve team manager of Boca Juniors in 2015, a position he held until his departure in December 2019.
