Vernon Reid, a British-born American guitarist and songwriter, is best known as the founder and lead guitarist of the rock band Living Colour. In 1996, Reid released his first solo album, Mistaken Identity. He has since worked on various projects, including the formation of the Black Rock Coalition with journalist Greg Tate and producer Konda Mason in 1985. The coalition aims to promote the development of black rock music and artists.
