Sergey Aleksandrovich Golovkin, infamously known as "The Fisher" or "The Boa," was a Russian serial killer, rapist, and necrophile who terrorized the Moscow area between 1986 and 1992. Golovkin was born on November 26, 1959, in Moscow, Soviet Union, to an alcoholic father and a dysfunctional family. His parents' divorce in 1988 only exacerbated his troubled upbringing. Golovkin suffered from a congenital defect in his sternum, which led to recurring health issues, including bronchitis and indigestion. His unusual behavior and lack of interest in girls during his school days raised eyebrows among his classmates, who would later describe him as a loner.
Golovkin's descent into darkness began in 1984, when he attempted to rape and murder a young boy. However, it was not until 1986 that he committed his first known murder, near the Katuar railway station in Nekrasov, Moscow Oblast. Golovkin's modus operandi involved luring his victims, aged between 10 and 16, to secluded areas, where he would subject them to unimaginable torture, rape, and eventually, murder.
His killing spree continued unabated until 1992, with the bodies of his victims often discovered in his garage basement and the surrounding forests. Golovkin's necrophiliac tendencies were evident in his post-mortem rituals, which involved desecrating the bodies of his victims.
In 1996, Golovkin was arrested, tried, and convicted of his crimes. He was sentenced to death, becoming the last person to be executed in Russia before the country's moratorium on capital punishment.
